🚨 SCAM ALERT - Please Share to Protect Others! 🚨

I almost fell for a scam today and want to warn everyone. Someone contacted me on WhatsApp claiming to be from the "IMF Fund Foundation" offering FREE MONEY ($5,000-$500,000) as a grant program. They said people are selected "electronically through Facebook" and that it's a tax write-off scheme for Fortune 500 companies.
❌ THIS IS 100% FAKE ❌
Here's what I learned:

🔴 The REAL International Monetary Fund (IMF) does NOT give grants to individuals - they only work with governments
🔴 If someone contacts you unsolicited asking for your CashApp, Venmo, or bank info - IT'S A SCAM
🔴 These scammers often hack Facebook accounts and message you from "friends" to seem trustworthy
🔴 They may show "proof" of payments or share fake testimonials
🔴 The explanation about tax write-offs is designed to sound believable
⚠️ RED FLAGS TO WATCH FOR:
• Unsolicited contact on WhatsApp/Facebook Messenger
• Promises of free money from government organizations
• Requests for personal payment app information
• Pressure to act quickly
• Claims that "everyone is getting this grant"
💡 HOW I CAUGHT IT:
I used AI (Claude) to research the claim, and within seconds it found official IMF warnings about these exact scams. People have lost THOUSANDS of dollars to these fraudsters.
✅ WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE CONTACTED:
1. Do NOT share any personal or financial information
2. Block the person immediately
3. Report them to the platform (WhatsApp/Facebook)
4. If you're unsure, research it yourself or use AI tools to verify
5. Tell your friends and family - scammers target vulnerable people
Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Legitimate organizations don't randomly select people through Facebook for cash grants.
